The only requirement for an account is an active UCLA email address. An autogenerated password will be emailed to you. You can login into the server with:
$ ssh LOGIN@trianglebruins.com
(You might find it convenient to use the same username as your local
machine so that you can run
ssh trianglebruins.com
without specifying your username.)
It is recommend that you change your password with the passwd
command. Upload your SSH public keys to ~/.ssh/authorized_keys.
Providing your GitHub username will prepopulate your SSH keys.
